KB-12

Relay KB-12 is intended for the detection of the end of charging and protection against excessive discharge of 12V accumulator batteries. The relay is designed as a two-stage undervoltage protection with time delay of the operation of both stages. The first stage signals the end of charging the battery, and the second turns off consumers when the battery voltage drops below the minimum allowed voltage.

A typical application of KB-12 is in facilities where 12V batteries are used to power radio stations for automatic reporting of operational events. If the rectifier that charges the battery fails or fails and this is not detected, the radio station will over time discharge the battery beyond its endurance limit. KB-12 solves this problem by providing an alarm signal when charging stops and prevents the destruction of the battery from excessive discharge.
